Dry Needling
Dry Needling is the treatment where very fine stainless-steel needles are inserted and manipulated into trigger points in muscle and fascia.
The “dry” component means that the needles have no bore in them and are unable to inject medicinal liquids. The treatment goal is to produce a neurophysiological effect that helps to reduce pain and inflammation, improve range of motion, tolerance to movement, normalize the nervous system, and optimize the body’s performance.
Some of the conditions treated:
Sports injuries
Muscle strains - ie quadriceps, hamstrings,
calf, hips, rotator cuff, neck, back
Nerve pain - ie sciatica, nerve impingement
Repetitive strain injuries - ie tennis elbow
jumper’s knee, plantar fasciitis
Tight and restricted muscles
Motor control issues
Treatment with Dry Needling in conjunction with Manual Therapy and Exercise is a great way help your neuromuscular system work efficiently in recovery and aid in reducing the risk of further injury.
